Verizon Wireless Manufacturing Defect Policy

How Do I Permanently Deactivate My Verizon Account in Case of a Lost or Stolen Phone?

First, start by trying to locate your device. In most cases, people are able to find their phones. However, if you've determined that your phone is permanently lost or that it has been stolen, you need to file a report to ensure that your account is deactivated to prevent any unwanted cost to be inflicted upon you.

Generally, you do not need to permanently deactivate your account. You can temporarily suspend your service (this is what Verizon recommends if you plan on continue using their services).

The easiest and fastest way to temporarily suspend your Verizon account is via the My Verizon app. However, since the app is on your phone, which you now don't have in your possession, you need to contact Verizon support online or call them at 1-800-VERIZON (1-800-837-4966).
